Food webs

Relationships between organisms can be studied with the aid of food webs: By discovering which organism feeds on which and how often, we can conclude, e.g., how populations of different species affect each other. In order to obtain the correct view of interspecific relationships, it is especially important to accurately identify species. For this reason, DNA barcoding provides an excellent tool that the group led by Tomas Roslin utilizes to reveal the structure of food webs in different parts of the world and in different ecosystems (Spatial Foodweb Ecology Group).
